Paul Ninomura is a Mechanical Engineer with the U.S. Indian Health Service in Seattle, WA. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Washington. He is an ASHRAE Health Facility Design Professional (HFDP) and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is currently serving as the Chairman for SSPC 170: ASHRAE Standard for Ventilation of Health Care Facilities. Mr. Ninomura is also serving on the revision committee for the 2010 edition of the FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities. He has served on this committee since 1990 and has participated in the development of the 1992, 1996, 2001, and 2006 editions. Mr. Ninomura has served on several ASHRAE committees. He helped to develop the ASHRAE Health Care Facility Design Professional Certification program. He served on the Special Project committee that authored the HVAC Design Manual for Hospitals and Clinics. He has served on Technical Committee 9.6: Healthcare Facilities. He has also served on the Environmental Health Committee and SSPC 62: Ventilation for Acceptable IAQ. In addition, he is the author of several articles, published in the ASHRAE Journal, related to ventilation for health care facilities including nursing and dental facilities. In his work for a federal agency, he has been involved with the design and construction of new healthcare facilities for Native Americans in the Pacific Northwest, Northern Plains and Alaska. |

JAN SUNDELL Technical University of Denmark Lyngby, Denmark Jan Sundell is an environmental scientist, from Sweden, with a unique background in both engineering (M.Sc.Eng) and medicine (Dr.Med.Sc.). Before going into science he was responsible for building codes, and occupational health legislation in Sweden and the Nordic countries. He was the main author of a model building code for ventilation in homes for UN. He has conducted several large multi-disciplinary studies on associations between indoor environmental factors and health. His efforts have focused on ventilation, the causes of sick building syndrome, and for the increase in allergies/asthma. He has led numerous European multi-disciplinary reviews of the total scientific literature with regard to indoor climate and health. He has served on the Board of Directors of The International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ), is Vice President of The International Academy of Indoor Air Sciences, and is the Editor-in-Chief of the most prestigious scientific journal within the field of "Indoor Air." Within ASHRAE he is a member of SSPC 62.1, the Environmental Health Committee, and is the chair of EHC Subcommittee for Research. He is an excellent provocative lecturer, with outstanding knowledge on the need of ventilation, and the importance of indoor air factors for health.
